The Belgian Institute for Graphic Design organizes Typo Safari, a city walk starting at the Rivoli building in Uccle, discovering the different architectural periods, with special attention to shapes, colours and letters. The walk will be guided by Jo De Baerdemaeker, designer and typographer.
Jo De Baerdemaeker is leading a research project Typo Belgiëque tracing Belgium’s visual identities during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. His research brings light upon the typographic letter foundries that are a missing link to the typographic history in Belgium, the Netherlands and Europe.
The walk is scheduled for up to 15 people and will occur on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at 11 am and at 3 pm. The walk will be in English and will last for one hour and a half approximately.
